Cookie Time

I love it when I get to bake for other people. It means I get to enjoy the process of baking, but I don't have a whack of sugary treats tempting me all the time. Giving baking away gives me joy, gives the recipient joy, and is good for my waistline!

Giada di Laurentiis's recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies with Hazelnuts is currently my favourite cookie recipe. I went to visit a friend the other day, and as usual when I go to see this friend, who has a 9 month old baby, I take along some baking. She & her husband always appreciate it.

The recipe is here.

I left out the nuts because A) I don't have any hazelnuts left, and B) I didn't know if anyone in my friend's household had issues with nuts (turns out, nuts aren't a problem; good to know for the future).

These are amazing cookies!

I love a good chocolate chip cookie. I'd leave out the nuts too, but that's 'cause I don't like them.

C is for cookies...I love that letter. There's something soothing about baking especially when I'm planning on giving the goodies away to others so I understand what you're saying. As for the nuts, I have issues myself but even if I didn't, I'd probably have left them out anyways. There's something wonderfully pure about a simple chocolate chip cookie.

These look yummy! Love the sound of hazelnuts with them.

Sorry about the P.o. Boxes for my giveaway - the publisher is sending them out. If you have a friend/family member you can have them sent to with a regular address that will work.

I agree with you...I love to bake but what do I do with it all? My neighbor who usually gets a lot of it has been away for 3 months, so poor hubby is trying to deal with all the extra baked goods around. These cookies look so rich and tasty!!
