Syringa Creek Dinner

It's seriously hot - mid 30sC! Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to be able to escape to Syringa Creek Provincial Park for the day and spend several wonderful hours floating in the lake. It was heavenly.

Of course there was also food, prepared and served by my favourite cooks ever, my SIL Shan & her mom, C. The menu was simple: a whole chicken cut into pieces & BBQed, potatoes roased in a foil package with garlic scapes, and a nice salad. Perfect!

Hope everyone is enjoying summer so far!

That first picture is gorgeous...wow, wish I was enjoying the day there! Food looks great, too. I really want to find garlic scapes around here, but have been unsuccessful thus far :( Love the new look & header...it's so much more "open" and inviting!!

Nice, looks wicked good. I've been hearing so much about garlic scapes lately but I just can't find them. They aren't a regional thing are they?

Somehow food always taste better with the scenery like this.

Bob: No, I don't think they're regional at all, but they might be specialty or at least seasonal.
