Country Seed Bread

You cannot beat Canadian Living for reliable recipes. I made this the other day and it's great!

Country Seed Bread

2 cups bread flour (or, all purpose will work, too)
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup flax seeds
2 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp poppy seeds
2 tsp yeast
1 1/4 cups water (approx.)
2 tbsp liquid honey
2 tbsp veg oil (or melted butter)
1 1/2 tsp salt

Directions here, adding the seeds with the dry ingredients. I used an egg wash on the top to both provide shine and to adhere the additional sesame seeds to, solely for appearances' sake.

Damn fine bread recipe. I ommitted the sesames and just stuck everything in the breadmaker.

Mr. B: Thanks! That would work, too. I made a loaf for my dad and used all whole wheat flour, omitted the flax seeds in favour of his preferred flax meal, and added sunflower seeds. It turned out great, too.
